About Of Substance

A wardrobe should feel like a reflection of the person wearing it - not a recreation of what everyone else is buying.

I created Of Substance from my love of clothing with character: expressive pieces, beautiful materials, thoughtful construction, and details that are increasingly difficult to find. I wanted to create a place for the kind of fashion I am always searching for myself - clothing that feels distinctive without being unwearable and special enough to build an entire outfit around.

Each piece is sourced and selected by me, one at a time, here in New York. There is no formula for what makes it into the collection. I look for craftsmanship, quality, cultural relevance, and, above all, a point of view. The edit may move between sculptural tailoring, intricate embellishment, unexpected femininity, and pieces that bring individuality into an everyday wardrobe.

The name Of Substance reflects what I want the collection to represent: clothing with depth, intention, and a life beyond a single season.

This is vintage and archival fashion for people who want to dress with more curiosity—to discover something they didn’t already know they were looking for and make it entirely their own.
